On August 24-27, 2012 the finals of the International program Studrespublika-2012 took place in the entertainment complex “Sonechko” (Crimea, near Evpatoria). This is the 14^th time the project occurs. The theme of the finals is Ukraine of my dream.

During those three days almost 1000 active participants from all over Ukraine united in a quasi—state youth organization Studrespublika, with its laws, government body, territory, currency, political parties, election campaigns etc. The culmination of the event was the election of the Student’s President and Deputies of the Ukrainian Student Parliament. What was different this year was that the Student Parliament election was held in two different ways: by majority and the proportional systems.

Volodymyr Palahniuk has become the Student president of Ukraine 2012. He is a student of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.

Students from Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi and Chernivtsi were elected as deputies of the Student Parliament of Ukraine.

Deputies of the Student parliament of Ukraine were elected: Yulia Bobyr (Poltava), Marina Golovko (Poltava), Marina Gusakova (Kyiv), Liliya Danikevych-Levine (Kyiv), Yulia Ilashchuk (Chernivtsi), Kateryna Kolesnichenko (Mykolaiv), Alexander Kuzhel (sharp) Alexander Lusuy, Alexander Pradidenko (Kirovograd), Kateryna Sereda (Mykolaiv).

The festival part of the project had been a great success. The most expected event was the beauty contest among the girl students named “Persha Lady”. The winner was Viktoria Dubova – student of the Vinnitsa National Agrarian University. “Persha Lady Internet” is Kateryna Tverdokhlib, student of the Vocational School of the National University of the nutrition technologies in Volyn.

President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych sent his greetings to the participants of the Studrespublika.

Useful classes and discussions were held by famous public figures and experts: Serhii Datsiuk, Petro Ivanov, Oleksandr Ktytorchuk, Yurii Lipchevskyi, Andrii Mishyn, Andrii Okara (Russia), Mykhailo Prytula, Antonii Rudyi, Aliona Sibiriakova, Oleksii Tolkachov, Leopold Shpecht (Austria) etc.

Highly respected guests had visited the Finals of the Studrespublika-2012. The people’s deputy Natalia Korolevska and the world-renowned football player Andrii Shevchenko visited the opening ceremony. Head of the organizing committee of Sustainable Ukraine foundation Oleksii Azarov, state figure Anatolii Tolstoukhov, former prime-minister of Crimea Serhii Kunitsyn also aided in the creation of the Studrespublika. The optional seminar Educated Youth is the Country’s Future was conducted by the Third Secretary of the USA Embassy in Ukraine Andrew G. Bury.
