On the 13-14th of February 2015 at main town squares, in shopping malls, universities of Ukraine was established the Wall of Love on which everyone could write any warm words of congratulation on Valentine’s Day to all who wanted to. This year there was a tendency to greet all Ukraine, to wish fellow citizens peace, tranquility and well-being.
Everyone who approached the wall received congratulatory branded Valentine with brilliant words of the Gospel: «…love does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil...», — which they could give to the most precious people. Well, and certainly, they got a smile and congrats from Students’ Republic’s activists.
In Kyiv, except of organizing the event at universities of the city on the eve, on the 14th of February on Khreshchatyk Street there was established the traditional the Wall of Love. Then Republicans visited refugees from the east of the country, presented Valentines and gave a little food. And also activists of Studrespublika of Kyiv was figuring out, what people of Kyiv thought on what Ukraine should be, by organizing funny the Lottery Wishes. It’s a good thing that optimism does not leave Ukrainians, all of them hope for the best.
In Kharkiv the Republican wall united university students, high school students, media, ordinary passers-by and even two wedding couples, what created a special atmosphere and added the feeling of joy that these people, united in holy matrimony, would carry their love through whole their life.
Inhabitants of Kherson decided to hold the event in a shopping mall, as there lots of families rested and lazed around. There were more opportunities to congratulate young families and small children who mostly rejoiced receiving Valentines. Republicans filled with love and emotions their wall in a way that only citizens of Kherson could do.
So, in that original way there was held Valentine’s Day in Ukraine. But do not forget that in the present difficult times your loved ones need twice much more attention, comprehension and a sense of love, regardless the day on the calendar. Appreciate your families, respect people doing good works, believe in the miracle by all means — and it will become true!
